Sometimes, we want to hear God speak to us through other people, not because we can’t hear or listen ourselves, but we just need some kind of conviction it’s actually from God. There are times we want to do the listening for other people too, instead of encouraging them to hear from Him themselves. In the book of John Chapter 2 and Verse 5, Mary told the servants to do whatever Jesus told them. She got out of the way, displaying the confidence that whatever Jesus told them to do would be right, she trusted Him implicitly. Speaking and hearing from God is something we all Christians are entitled to, hmmn and I believe we should claim it.
Obedience to His instructions must be absolute. Most times, it just doesn’t make sense. The servants were asked to fill the jars with water, I’m sure they must have wondered what water had got to do with wine, they obeyed still, completely. Jesus didn’t ask them to do anything beyond their capabilities; filling the jars with water was something they could do. He won’t ask you to do anything you’re not capable of, just obey fully for His will to prevail.
Doubt is an enemy, Total obedience + Doubt isn’t a proper equation. In as much as God wants the best for us, doubt can disrupt this. You have obeyed Him, totally, just leave Him to do what He knows how to do best, don’t even think about He’s going to do it, it’s none of your business. Proverbs 3: 5-6. Yeah, doubt can set in especially when your vision is a big one, but let your faith be bigger than your fears and obey to the brim!
